Mother Earth and Father Time

Across the wide vast oceans 
And at the top of the highest mountain tops 
Our eyes behold the beauty 
Spun by mother earth and father time. 
No one really knows their beginning 
Or when the will cease to end. 
But from dinosaurs and the ice age 
And the beginning of time again, 
Man has walked upon the earth 
Exploring, gaining knowledge and using his creative mind 
To build a better future that has proven to last with time. 
Also building many empire 
That have also decaded with time, 
Leaving only stories of their history 
That man has also kept alive. 
From wagon wheels and horses 
To man walking upon the moon, 
Then to the computer age and miracle drugs 
For which we live much longer lives. 
Now here we are at millennium 
Celebrating a whole new era, a new beginning 
With mother earth and father time. 
Wondering what this era will bring 
And will it stand the test of time?
