A Mother's Love(Watching Over Me)

A Mother's Love(Watching Over Me)

Dedicated to my Mother; Jeanetta (Jan) Durden.

Fourteen years ago Abba Father called you home... To put an end to the pain you suffered while on this earth you roamed. He said to you the tears are no more, make your declarations of love and follow me through heaven's door.... for in this place take rest my child, delight in sweet peace forever more. It was a day I thought I'd never see, regardless of what we endured, my prayer was God please don't take my mother from me. But now you free, resting in a place someday I hope to see. Peace for you is truly still and because of the things you taught me, my life is yielded to God's Will. I miss all the talks and fun we shared, even the bad times that sometimes made me wonder if you even cared. I realize no one in this world is perfect, the flesh will make mistakes, yet for me you were my perfect mother whom for your family you did whatever it takes; and oh what I would give to see your beautiful smile just one more day....For truly a mother's love can never be replaced.

There is soo many things I want to tell you, often wondering do I make you proud, gazing in the sky beyond the pain and stormy days, it’s your face I behold shinning beyond the clouds.

Why in this season from my life God called you to depart… is a question only the Father holds the answer…it is also he who helps me embrace your mantle….

Scented candles, burning potpourri, melodies from heaven serenading the air….

Though stricken in your body, your spirit was never in despair.

My fondest memories are those that demonstrate your wherewithal to survive…

It’s by those recollections and the grace of God that I’m still alive….

As, I close this poem may I profess my last decree… My BELOVED angel in heaven looking over me; continue resting in peace, for on that morning when this life is over, surely we shall meet, beyond the pearly gates and on that gold paved street. I love you Mother, thank you for watching over me!
