Mourning for Morning

They say the darkness comes before the dawn and things can only go up after they've been down. You have to be immobile  before you can experience soaring so, with that in mind, I'll be mourning until morning.

Mourning for those friends trampled by shame. No longer living or living but no longer the same. In the grave or in a cell with memories to remember. And loving or loathing like a rainy day in September.

Mourning for lost aspirations and dreams and for the ones who never get a chance to redeem. And switching the goal because the plan seems extreme instead of saying forget a plan "B" because my "A" rules supreme.

Mourning for those who won't ask for help or when their morning finally comes, still mourns for themselves.

And Mourning for the morning who is like a guest stopping by, not staying for too long though times seems to fly. And it waves goodbye "I'll see you soon so don't cry" because you will never appreciate the morning until you've endured the night sky.
