Moving Light in Unfamiliar Places

Moving Light in Unfamiliar Places

I tossed my cell-phone over Niagara Falls
Kicked my GPS to the middle of the highway
 Then tried to find myself on an unfamiliar road.
Way marks appearing like unfinished dreams
 Holding invitations to places I’ve never seen
I spotted a trail by a rocky river and headed in
 Looking up, my soul gained ascension;
 Finding peace of mind in the blue cloud-less sky
 Walking for hours in solitude, till I forgot
 Where I’d been and where I needed to go
  The sun’s stinging rays suddenly vanished;
   I never noticed the gathering clouds, and
  Headed to the trees for shelter from the rain
 Hands free, empty; only my instincts to carry

Hey Val, I walk around the house with my cell phone, and have panic attacks if I misplace my GPs, not even kiddin...but it's part of my new years resolution to spend more time in nature, hoping to be more self reliant and instinctive, and yes ode to no more cell phones...hey Val did you find out anything about buddy?

Thanks Cherie, you know it's a theme in poetry that is often revisited; the finding yourself scenario; the primal hunger urge to conquer...suddenly having an epiphany in a place you don't often visit...to me the process of writing a poem is most interesting, never knowing where the pen will take you, I love that about this genre, hey thanks for saying that my friend, very encouraging....ttyl

Hey Flower, have I told you recently that you have a way with words? I'll just keep saying it if I haven't...you're so sweet

I can't complain big bro. and if I did nobody listens anyway, lol...hangin in....wow man thanks for the compliments...though I must confess that you and me having a few 'pops'  sounds much better lol....yeah the personalizing is fun to do at times;  I like the idea of being more primal and self reliant; going up to Northern Ontario one day and hunt moose; that sort of thing or at least feeling more organic; connected with nature...some may relate to that, hey thanks for dropping by pal
