Poem -

Mr.HAPPY SINGH

Once I met one Mr.Singh,

Whose father expired before his birth.

He neither reads a daily,

Nor watches TV,

Nay he listens to Radio;

Because  all of them speaks news of death.

‘Death is certain’ – very well he knows,

But why to have others’ death

On to one’s brain?

‘All should be alive till  my death’ – he wishes.

He never attends any funeral,

Nor he listens to such news

‘I want to keep everyone’s living picture,

Let humans have perpetual long life’ – he wishes.

When he learns a baby’s birth,

He visits there and presents a coin

-a welcome token of love-

Even without anyone’s invitation.

One day, someone informed -

‘Mr.Singh, your mother is serious’.

He rushed to see before she breathed last –

She died;   he remained there without seeing her body

As he wants to keep living picture of his mother.

Yes, he believes his mother is still alive

As the last living picture reflects often.

Now Mr.Singh is at his nineties

And saying his parents are still alive.

What should I call him – ‘Mr.Happy Singh?’
