Poem -

Mum

Hello, my name is Mum
you may not remember me
I was the one who nursed you
rocked you to sleep.
bathed you
dressed you
read to you
tucked you into bed.
I walked you to school
helped with your homework
taught you to ride a bike
to kick a ball
to swim.
I was the one who held you When you cried
when life was cruel
I wiped away your tears
calmed your fears
guided you
taught you
loved you
remember me
my name is still Mum.

Stars

Tiny pinpricks
of sparkling
light
dotting the heavens
with infinite wishes

Moon

Veiled in
darkness
she lays still
gazing down upon
earth asleep
