MUMBLING LADY

Walking alongside pigeons in Kings Cross Square
Mumbles to herself life isn't very just and fair
Walking in my direction with pleading sad eyes 
Asking for change for a coffee and some fries 

I shake my head to her and say not today 
With that she is gone and is on her way 
Another person to ask she doesn't stand still 
Mumbling now louder saying it's purely God's will

A businessman now comes to sit next to me
Can't be bothered with the mumbling she
Says to me she's an eyesore and a utter disgrace 
Blot on the landscape of the fine human race 

The mumbling lady is now chatting to police 
Accused of vagrancy and upsetting the peace 
The pigeons now gone and taken to flight 
No longer a mumbling lady she's out of sight
