Mundane M'lady

In the beginning
all good fairy tales
start.
with a princess and a prince, maybe
a frog and a witch.
In our case we lived the tale in modern setting.
Mother in laws, children and step children,
and the magic mirror.
We spent our tale in total fantasy.
Submerged In self delusion .
There was no happy ending
as this
story is ongoing.
I want it to end
in a good place.
where everyone has a smile.
Where they ride off
onto the drawbridge
waving at the peasants
Left behind.
Lovebirds till the end,
no darkness
no menace,
no excuses why
the car payment wasn't made
or
the kids
have to have their shots.
Mine is a mundane life
yes it is indeed.
I can truly see
once upon a time.
