Murder/Suicide

It has been
a
Month 
or 
so
Since you left this earth
and took with you
the one 
you claimed you love

Initially  I wrote 
a poem
about you
that showed shock
and compassion
I guess this one
portrays contempt...

You were apart 
of the military elite
a brother in arms
to my son
Yet with all the 
military training
in the end
you were no better
than a deserter
Your weakness
overtook
the duty
you swore
to uphold...

As a Veteran
who served
during time 
of war
I turn my back
to you 
for 
you did not
bring glory
to the flag
instead 
illuminated
the characteristics
of a 
coward.....................
