Music Box Memories---Inspired By Brahms Lullaby

Blossoms are drifting like snowflakes.

Springtime moonlight whitens them.

Playing the piano instead

of waiting for elusive sleep.

Touching the keys softly

with almost imperceptible pressure

more like a caress on a babys skin.

The middle blue of the night sky

calls in tune with my mellow mood.

Playing by the feelings in my heart.

Each note as I played it for you my love.

Each bell of the music box lullaby

you loved so much.

Remember darling

I had to play this for you

every night at your bedtime.

You smiled as you found the dreamland,

the one I promised you

would be waiting.

If now you have you gone to live there

wait for me my angel I will come

I promise with all my heart.

If somewhere in a magic land

Where children play forever.

and sickness and pain do not exist

Perhaps you are hearing me now

on one of the twinkling stars above.

This lullaby is for you my darling.
