Mustang's Lament (revised)

Mustang's Lament (revised)

Insatiable hunger gnaws my bones
And deeper still to the core of me
Running free is what I crave
As sweet as nectar to my soul
Until I answer freedom's call
My restless spirit waits in pain
With barbed wire wrapped around my heart

(the photo I took of my husbands horse, who loves to chase the wind)

Rachel...what a lovely comment! Thank you so much! And yes, my hubby's horse is gorgeous...I call him Fabio(the male model) because he'll come zooming up from the back pasture to a complete stop and then he flings his mane over one shoulder and looks at me as if waiting for applause or admiring :-0...
