my ball and chain

my heart has been squeezed by past loves
trapped in a prison of my body and mind
the chain tightens every time i step out
ball and chain won't let me far
night time winds and stormy days
an excuse not to face outside
heavy heart,weighed by heavy thoughts
body feels separated from my head
the chains short -fear takes over
the ball wont budge -- scared to love again
who will cut the links,set me free?
lift my heart and let me be me
give me wings let me fly
release me from the four walls
and open the door to my heart
so i can fill it with the blood of love
