MY BEAUTIFUL LIONESS

The woman I love

MY BEAUTIFUL LIONESS

DONT BE DECEIVED BY HER BEAUTY,
OR THE WAY SHE LAYS CAREFREE
BENEATH THE SHADED TREES,
ON THE CUSPS OF THE HILL.

TO APPROACH HER
IS TO RELINQUISH YOUR SOUL,
HER MIND IS BEYOND WISDOM,
HER VOICE..
IS AS SWEET, AS THE HONEYCOMB,
BUT HER BITE IS AS FATAL
AS THE KISS OF THE INLAND TAIPAN.

HER EYES ARE AS BRONZE FLAMES
FLICKING WITH A SOFTNESS,
THAT LURES YOU
INTO AN HYPNOTIC TRANCE,
SECONDS BEFORE HER FANGS
PIERCES YOUR HEART.

HER BODY IS TO BE DESIRED,
HER HAIR IS SOFT AS THE CLOUDS,
AND AS BLACK AS THE NIGHT’S EYES,
A HUNDRED TIMES CURLED
LIKE THE DEADLY WEB SHE WEAVES
WITH HER FLATTERING TONGUE.

SHE IS MY BEAUTIFUL LIONESS,
THE INFATUATION OF MY SOUL,
THE SONG OF MY HEART,
AND THE DUST
THAT WOULD ULTIMATELY SILENCE MY VOICE.

WILFORD BARKER.
