My Computer Keeps Freezing My Brain

Ya know, sometimes, when you stare
At your computer too long
You're half asleep anyway
But still you try to push on
And you've typed your first brilliant line
But somewhere in your mind
You get lost, and you awaken seconds later
Just as your head began to nod
And you stare at your screen through a fog
At words you must have thieved
Because the words don't seem familiar at all
So you think to yourself
My computer must be freezing my brain
Still you try to write words once again
But by the end of the line
You're lost in fog
And you haven't written your intent
You force yourself to awareness again
So you look to the screen
And realize that this
Cannot possibly be a dream
Because these are the words that you see
Glowing across your screen:

:) Conclusive mechanism to achieve resounding results ! Compulsive reading. Competent engagement of satirical meanderings.
Great dynamic.
Warm wishes.

Hey, Tony,
TGIF! ...
If you're looking for something to write about and are susceptible to night terrors, as I am, there's never any shortage of material to work with. Sleep provides you with plenty of REM, little rest, and a plethora of dark topics to work with. Couple that with a male muse who is a masochistic bastard and a slave driver to boot, and you'll be fortunate to get two, perhaps three hours of uninterrupted sleep.
In other words, you will be writing your backside off in no time flat.
If, however, you seek to write about God, springtime, beauteous birdsong, or babbling brooks and the like, then a good, long nature hike might be just the ticket for you.
Whatever you decide to write I'm quite sure it would be brilliantly penned.
Enjoy the weekend, my friend.

Hey Captain DEAN!!..... I'm actually somewhat sleep deprived......I have several different types of sleeping pills...... because I have runs where I don't sleep for three days and that's when the pills come in handy because otherwise I begin to hallucinate...... so, for me, a good three to four hours is a blessing........I NEVER and I mean NEVER run out of things to write about......I can never understand what people are saying (truly) when they speak of ' writers block' because it's something I've never experienced....... for the most part my mind is an active playground with never enough time to engage in all the things I would like to be writing, experiencing, creating, reading, or learning about......I think that qualifies me for being a little ' crazy'....... but mostly, people just say I'm a big kid with no hope of ever growing up! (smiles)..... this poem you just commented on was just something I took out of an old notebook and rejuvenated because I thought it was a little humorous....... anyway, sorry for rambling man....... and thanks for all the cool insight and the intro to the slave driving, masochistic bastard ~ I don't know if I should feel sorry for you or envious ~ most of us don't have a muse at all!!..... Have a good weekend D!!.......peace......T xo
Then we are a lot alike in many respects, Tony.
As for my muse, I can send him to you and let you borrow him for a month or so, if you like.
I could sure use a break!
You're very welcome, "T"...

My attention is required elsewhere but I HAD to respond to this most AMAZING piece of inspired shit that was shat!!....and I feel most grateful that you dumped here!!..... Cherie says... please feel free to vent here anytime..... you're one of the most creative individuals I've ever met in poetic circles..... but right now I must tend to Cherie's garden!! (smiles)......I have SO MUCH to relate to you about this most outstanding wordsmithing!!......talk soon!!..... Peace......T xo
Hi Tony, I have only just seen your comment. I woke up this morning with a bad head, remembered what I'd commented and contracted admin to have it removed which they have done.
I turned it into a proper poem on my page though so all's not lost. Thank you so much for your understanding. A shit that was shat? Yeah that rings a bell Lol. I seriously need to sort my life out ha ha
Take care my friend - Syd xo
No worries SYD!!.....I thought that it was VERY clever wordsmithing!!...... definitely had me smiling !!.......going to your page now man!!........ peace......T xo
Hi Tony! I was taking a break from writing to read a few poems because I was doing just what you have described!! I suddenly found my screen with gobbledigook on it where I had momentarily dozed..you described perfectly a scenario familiar to so many of us..I never quite know how much sleep I will get or not get each night but have learned to live with and accommodate it. I totally get what you say about words being not familiar and wondered quite where they have been plucked from....loving this my talented wordsmith! It has started my day wonderfully..Thank you!!
Lodigiana xx
Hey LO!!!..... so glad you found this a wonderful start to your day...... and I'm VERY happy that so many of you could relate.......I write every poem that I post with a pen into notebooks and I have so many notebooks filled with stuff that I go back from time to time and edit them as I write them on my computer..... for me it's the re-writing where my stuff gets intense and that's when I find myself dozing off while staring at the screen during the heights of my creative process....... sometimes I actually dream up MORE creative additions or removal of / to imagery and phrasing when I'm in that 'in between' state of awareness...... anyway, I'm rambling now because I LOVE talking about writing (smiles)....... thank you dear poet sister for understanding and sharing your thoughts and experience with this subject matter!!....... you're awesome......I ALWAYS look forward to hearing from you!!....... stay groovy girlfriend!!.........T xo ??✳✳♥ ?
You are so very welcome! x
?????? love this Tony, many a nights with warm eyes and frozen brains ??☮? brother ?
Thanx WAYNE!!......I knew you'd be able to relate to this with as much poetry you've been posting lately!!...... " warm eyes and frozen brains "........proof positive that we're on the same team!! (smiles) ? ? ??????
????☮? keeping the grooves... ????
A subject most can identify with.
my brain often spells onto my screen
I often don't recognize the stain
leaving me unable to follow my thought to conclusion.
Computer frozen brain
Brain frozen computer
either way the chills the same
Great write Tony!!
LOL!!..... you got that right my friend....... either way!!......thanx for this Sir JOHN!!..... apologies for the delayed reply!!.......TTYL!!.....T xo
My Dear Brother Poet Tony,
I have a way to circumvent that
No computer brings me strife
I write all my works by longhand
And leave their publication to my wife
Love, Rockets, and Peace of Mind,
Larry xxx
Dear Brother Poet LARRY,
I know exactly what you mean.....I have over 20 notebooks filled with my poems and song ideas.....I NEVER post a poem without writing it in longhand first..... In fact, I don't think I could write any other way..... I'm a creature of habit in that way..... been doing it that way since ' WAY' before there were computers!!.... We have a LOT in common my friend ......I think I've used the word 'way' ~ WAY too many times in this reply!! ?......I'm rambling now, ......thanx for this ......have a great day!!.......T xo ♥??
Dear Tony,
But that's what I love about you Bro, you are such a "Way-out" dude.
As for me, I'm even more primitive, because I've never learned how to use a computer.
Thank God for my lovely Linda.
Love you Bro,
Larry xxx
Hi Tony, I write my poems in longhand . I seldom use my computer. I use my mobile.. words like " contrast" instead of "congrats" appear on the screen...double Dutch or Taglish. ( Filipino and English) ..and oftentimes i discovered my mistakes after i had published them ...i have notebooks full of bits and pieces, just piling up... But I'm not insomniac ,, that's the problem lol.
I enjoyed how you jazzed up this mechanical issue.. I can relate.
Time to smile !
cheers
Leah
Hey LEAH!!.... so cool to hear that there's another member of the longhand/ pen & ink into notebooks club!! (smiles)....... also glad that you don't have the insomnia problems........ it's funny because I just picked up my prescription for sleeping pills just a few hours ago!!.....I don't have to take them too often but when I have one of those ' 3 days with no sleep' occasions, it's VERY good to have them on hand!!.....thanx so much for stopping by my page dear poet sister!!..... Much Love to you and yours!!....... smiles......T xo ?✴♥
