My Daughter Mikayla

Mikayla I love you
You were
Born into my life
I embraced you
We grew together
As Father and Daughter
We shared laughter
We shared love
We shared tears
We shared life’s path
We were torn apart
I pain with emptiness
My mind says all gone now
My heart says never
But we live apart
You are my forever
You are my twinkle little star
I’ve seen you up close
I’ve seen you from afar
Barriers, emotional and enforced
Keep us apart
I strive in pain to be with you
I promise
In my mind and heart
We will be together one again
And forever
Mikayla I love you

Hi Mark, I start reading with the expectations of a tribute to your daughter then im quickly torn up with sad emotions, I can't completely relate to what your going through but because I have daughters I do, but your approach is noble and the right way just for being for her trying to be apart of her life is all that you can do. Well done, I really felt the heart break of your write.
Love is something that is can play cannot measure or weigh, but the love of a father for his children always exceeds stops any measure, otherwise, apart from being an aberration is something unnatural.
Hank Beukema lost her son David more than three decades ago, in your life there is a before and an after the death of his son, despite the time still he cries it and remember it, the love of a father or a mother for her children always transcends all barriers.
A greeting and congratulations on the poem.
