Why must you leave so soon?

Do your eyes not see it all so clear?

Why couldn't we try to attune? 

Our love has yet to fade away,

Why is it me that you dismay?

About how I felt,

About how much I loved you,

My dear, you didn't know what to do,

So you left on that cold, rainy night,

And never returned, 

But not for me nor despite,

But because on that cold, rainy night you took a wrong turn,

 Fore the road was benighted by the lantern put out by the rain,

And you, blinded by your fate,

My dear, no one can ease my pain,

Fore my pain has yet to abate,
