MY FAVORITE SOUND

There are so many sounds that enchant the ear…
Sounds that are visceral which speak to roots
Beyond the surface of time and space, beyond my "id":
The wolf romancing the moon as he worships
Ancient earth…the forest his dominion;
His instincts flawlessly bred for survival
He howls his claim under the night's light.
Beyond the skies, the moon takes command over the seas.
The ebb and flow of the tide moves like a lover
Back and forth lapping at the shore delicately.
Sometimes it roars in anger, the waves thrashing the rocks;
The spray a voice of watery accusations shouting secrets.
A baby's laughter is so infectious…a delightful purity
Of sound so captivating that the need to listen
Again and again is addictive…it is the sound of doves
Rejoicing devoid of the knowledge of sadness.
My favorite sound is the sound of tangible desire.
It is sensual, fleshy and so very carnal.
It's the way you moan "fffuuuccckkk" in my ear
As we approach a mutual precipice;
Your body meeting mine in exaltation
My body rising in a lyrical crescendo
As we ascend as one; all senses
Aflame with a scintillation of ecstasy.
It's the sound of your name from my lips.
It's the sound of your "I love you's".
It's the sound of you and I.

Giggles the Poet
Giggles! Thanks so much for your wonderful comments. I am so glad that you saw my intent in writing this piece. There are mysteries that are too wonderful and can't be understood by finite mind …the scripture (Proverbs 30:19) says it quite eloquently:
