my favorite sounds

my favorite sounds

I love the clicking sound of a light switching on

I love the thumping sound of nunna making dough

I love the soothing sound of a cat purring

I love the creaking sound of boat ropes in friction

I love the provocative sound of yacht masts tapping in mock battle

I love the silent sound of clouds parting before the sun

I love the hushing sound of gentle breeze through the sails

I love the joyous sound of children playing between the highrises

I love the booming sound of scratching preannouncement preparations at a microphone

I love the stirring sound of students rising and scattering at the end of an assembly

I love the dynamic sound of soup boiling on a stove top

I love the precarious sound of placing a glass on a tabletop

I love the vital sound of my heartbeat under water

I love the surprising sound of aquatic creatures splashing the surface

I love the shocking sound of a flame blown out

Lovely poem. I like how you began each line with, "I love the" and the way you incorporate sound into the poem. Good work.
