My Friend Nelson

My Friend Nelson

He took us to many places, saw so much with you,
'Waah, Mr. Terry, my name: never love someone new,'
we parked in heaven's car park, no one had to pay,
'You might not be returning,' someone tried to say.

We stood in a room, with drinks, smoking at the bar,
hoped vehicle would be ok, 'baby you can't drive my car;'
there was a puff of smoke, devil came in a speedboat,
who shouted out: 'Ok, tea break over, back on your heads.'

Nelson was unmoved, remembered beeping in reverse,
if we couldn't find chicken rice, nothing would be worse;
'May,' the Lord bless you - that's the love of his life,
a caring person, no one could wish for a better wife.

We ignored the devil who was reluctantly taken away,
time to return from our fantasy, it was true so they say.
