My Guardian Angel

You walked with me when I needed you most,
You sat with me when I was alone,
We stood so strong, you and I
Yet now you've been summoned to the sky.

My Guardian waits patiently for my return,
to her trustful side, where I belong,
Still there when I need you the most,
A listening ear, a sturdy post

She remains in a special place, yet she's not alone,
Another figure lurks behind her with care,
Filled with love, peace and hope, to bring from above,
They stand together, sharing the love.

I anticipate their arrival, to bring them back to me,
yet it never happens, once they're gone, they're gone,
It pains me to think, it will be a while
So I will just have to wait awhile.

Yet they were still ripped from me, a gorge left in my heart,
unfixable by any stitches, so deep it burdens me each day,
I anticipate my future, to protect like they have done,
to raise and cherish, so my memory is never undone.
