My hazy head 💦

My hazy head 💦

I shut my eyes and closed my mind

Where sensible was starved whilst sight was blind

Delving down below the deepest depths of an ocean

I frolicked with fishes in meandering motion

My scaly skin shone silvery gold

I swam through shipwrecks rusty with mould

My friends were mermaids just like me

We loved living life amidst that salty sea

I suddenly awoke in a startled surprise

I stretched my arms and rubbed my weary eyes

I found myself lying upside down

White sheets were tangled in my nightgown

I lay awake upon my bed thinking muddled thoughts inside my head

Those mermaids were now just my memories

All dreamt up within fabricated fantasies

Though I can still taste that salt and smell yon sea

When my brain shut down from reality

My hazy head of revery had crazily hoodwinked me…
