Poem -

My Jewish Face

My Jewish hair,

is Jewish hair,

inherited from my Jewish mom,

It's light and dark and long and thick,

covered in notes from a Jewish song

My Jewish eyes,

are Jewish eyes,

they've seen the Exodus each year,

the freeing of my people,

is reflected in the red sea,

that I hear inside my Jewish ear

And my Jewish nose,

is a Jewish nose,

with a large bump,

that I trace from time to time.

It reminds me of some years ago,

when my people lived in grime.

My Jewish mouth,

is a Jewish mouth,

wrought from Jewish lips,

it sings melodies so sweet,

they sound just like my Jewish hips

My Jewish clothes,

that no one knows,

are regular clothes instead,

strangle me with Jewish rope,

as I rest my Jewish head

And everytime,

that you point out,

that I have a Jewish face,

I want to slap you my Jewish hand,

and choke you with my Jewish lace

Because my face and my body,

is a regular face and body,

and they belong to only me.

choose to highlight the Jewish nose,

that you notice before you notice me.

Because I am a Jew,

but I'm not human to you.

I'm only human to me.

So wait until you see my salty Dead Sea tears,

just wait, love,

then you'll see.
