My Kind Of Town- Part II

Also inspired by Tony Taylor
Now let’s move up to the 1970’s, I’ve become a Dealer in Fine Art;
With a gallery in Cincinnati, my profession dear to my heart!
Fresh inventory was a necessity, to bring clients acquisitions new;
Chicago was a great hunting ground, so to there I drove or flew!
.
Clark Street had a lot of shops, that’s the first place I would go;
There was one I bought real well at, it was the gallery of Don Rose!
With paintings up to the ceiling, and large goblets they’d serve of wine;
I would purchase ten or twenty works, with deals that were very fine!
.
There were galleries on Michigan Avenue, that I also would peruse;
Finding exquisite works to bring home, that in “my” gallery I could use!
I also knew some people, who dealt privately from their homes;
With stacks that I’d always buy from, when through them I would roam!
.
I’d stay at The Continental, ending each day with a great massage;
Then I’d eat a gourmet dinner, at this four star rated lodge!
Many trips I often took there, many memories I have so great;
The “Windy City” always catered to me, my hunger, it would always sate!
.
.
A true work of art
My windfalls in Chicago
Hang e’er in my heart
