My majestic murmuration

A flock of starlings multiply
One thousand, maybe more
Forming shapes within the sky
I’ve never witnessed this before

Swiftly, gathering pace
Dodging to & fro
My eyes are fixed following them
Rising & swooping as they go

Can there actually be a leader?
No one will ever know
This dynamite display
Entertains sightseers down below

Cameras with expensive lenses
Professionally snapping shots
Panning & zooming carefully
To enlarge these little dots

Only in our winter months
Will this phenomenon ensue
I am in awe, what sheer delight
Migrating birds passing through

Can this spectacle be deliberate?
Is this action for human pleasure?
I shall never forget my fortune
For this wonderous scene
I do passionately treasure

So unique & rare for one to see
I truly have been blessed
Thank you nature for this joy
I am rejoicingly impressed
