My Mask

My Mask

My mask is who I am.
Covertly concealing all my insecurities, under a disguise of happiness and cheer.
No one  bats an eye, when I wear my mask.
If they only knew.
That under this facade lies a much bigger truth,
that the girl they see is nothing but a fake.
Popping pills with her right hand and drying her tears with her left she starts her day.
Only occasionally, accidentally letting her mask falter,
revealing to those around her the secret she's been keeping.
