Poem -

My Meaning

My Meaning

Sporadic mortal vessel amidst vespers,
Fists clenched, whitened, brittle,
Astute in hidden pain and whispers.

Pleas in solitude, stifled and abstain,
Whiskey kissed ice, warmth in solace,
In mid dusk, sprawled, ambitions refrain.

Soldiering on, smiles smeared upon a mask,
Quaint dreams a burden upon my being,
I ache, forsake my breath until its last,
Evasive dreams now give me meaning.

I gaze upon your new born eyes,
Your tiny lips and fingers and toes,
My trembling heart skips a beat mid cries,
My love all but conquers and constantly grows.

My reason, my focus, my one true goal,
To be a family with my love and father a perfect soul.

Awww...To me, there is NOTHING as precious as holding a newborn child and seeing your own eyes stare back....It is such a profound love and gives such meaning to life....I love Nat King Cole that you used....Such an emotional write of unconditional love and appreciation of life.  Moved me. xo  ;)
