My Melody

If the devil knew my melody
He'd stay away
He'd say this troubled man never needed me
He'll fade away
Lion hearted torn in two, that's yesterday
Teeth won't open anymore
Where'd you run away
No one knows the hurt that you put yourself through
No one could ever see the shade that you are flew
And life has become something like a mess
I hope I know
It's not a contest

If the devil knew my melody
He'd stay away
I've torn my wings like butterflies
In sun I never play
I wish I could tell happier stories
I wish that I knew them at all
I wish that I was stronger now
But a man can only survive such a fall
And I fall

If the devil knew my melody
He'd stay away
Too much for mortal or a god that's always me
I hope some day I'll find a river
And if I do they'll send me on my way
But until I'm dead I'll always be a quiver
I'm a tortured soul
It's been a long December
