I Could Believe

I pray for money 
I pray for power 
I pray for every tear drop in my overdue shower
I pray for music 
I pray for peace 
I pray for love and all that it can release 
But I don't believe in a god 
Maybe there's something I don't know 
I don't believe in god 
Maybe there's something that only a high power can show 

I pray for the melody 
Pray for the smoke 
Pray for this morning that let me be woke 
I pray for people 
I pray for me 
I pray to know the things that could set me free 
But I don't believe on God 
How could anyone believe in something so cruel 
No I don't believe in god 
If he was there I think he, she, it would change the rules 

So I pray for knowledge 
I pray for serenity 
I pray for the broken bones I'll break to know heaven in me 
I pray for the lost 
I pray for the weak 
I pray that I find something,  anything unique 
I could believe in a god 
If only he answered my prayers 
I could believe in god 
But I call out to a spirit that doesn't seem to care
