My Mermaid of mysteriousness 🧜♀️

Her tail was shimmering silver whilst her scales was glitzy gold
As I stood shocked and surprised at what I’d witnessed shivering with the cold
There this mythical Mermaid of mysteriousness sat upon a rock as bold as can be
But when I shouted out ‘Hello fine maiden” she suddenly splashed into the salty sea
Now perhaps I should have whispered my welcoming, I didn’t intend to fright
Whilst she was listening to her Merman lovers lamented lullaby on that sparkling, starry night
But I swear I saw a Mermaid in that pale moonlight
She had a long beautiful tail, it was a Mermaid alright..
Well I searched for ages and ages to see her again
As that big old man in the moon did wax and wane
And her splashes of the sea had left a slimey stain
But that rock where she once sat was always empty what a pain...
