My New Best Friends The Cops

My New Best Friends The Cops

At first the policewoman looked angry and irritable;

 Then unexpectedly a smile appeared on her face

As she handed me a 100 dollar speeding ticket;

 With it came unsolicited advice as well; she

 Offered me ways to save my money by observing

All clearly posted speeding laws

 Then in a casual tone asked me where I was heading

And recommended a 'good oyster bar' in that area

 wordlessly I smiled; it seemed to me my best option;

...though I did mention in convensational tone ,

That It had been a decade since my last infraction

Tipping her cap, she gave me a look that suggested she was,

 Unimpressed, and drove back to her hiding spot
