Poem -

My old friend

My old friend

You called yourself a friend
when you came into my life.
the happiness you took and locked it in the drawing.
you kept me under your wing and flew with me to the light
there my tears had dried.
kept me in my vein
and when I turned to thank you, right there it start again.
hello darkness my old friend I knew you were on your way so have a sit with me and comfort me until we meet again.

Hello darkness my old friend
A thought that we can all comprehend
But don't sit with it for too long
You must find the place where you belong

Well writ piece of sadness, thank you
