I, to mine eyes
Through orchards unafraid
Always my thoughts travel wide
And bless such fruit as may be made
Tumbling ever into, orchard's bloom, and supple shade...
I, to mine eyes
Have yet to master my master's trade
My thoughts plotting, too far and wide
And mention not, so much yet unmade
Unravelling my orchard's bloom, in a tearful fade...
I, to mine eyes
Am a pressed man, with much yet to say
So, I claim these thoughts too savvy tried
With humility, I forfeit this orchard soft and stayed
And march a steady pace, into this soft parade...
I, to mine eyes
Have climbed my Everest, affected deepest caves
Carved my thoughts a golden, enticing, compromise
Searched for Eldorado, and returned unscathed
Now, I march into my Orchard's Bloom, quite, unafraid....

Seems like the inevitable process of reconciling with a life lived. An acknowledgment of inadequate intentionality, yet reclining to the justice and mercy of the most fair and loving Judge. Have I understood it properly?

Hi Tony, beautifully written piece that expresses a lifetime of achievement and the pride of looking back on those achievements while contemplating what could have been done better but wholly satisfied with a life fulfilled. An awesome write that most people can relate to at some stage in their lives.
Such a talented, skilled writer and an artist of the highest calibre to be cherished and learned from. Brilliant poem that shines and a joy to read. xx

"I, to mine eyes" - your reason to use "mine" in this piece? a genuine question.
Hi YIYAN!!......Well, if you have ever read any Shakespeare.....the answer to your question is in some of his work....it's 'Poetic License' nowadays or 'The Olde School' way of approaching poetry and/or the English language as a whole!!.......take your pick!! (smiles)....hope that answers it for you my friend!!......and thanx so much for reading and commenting brother!!.....Lots Of Love!!......T xo : )
Thanks for letting me know of this poem poet Tony via mail, it's a sublime poem with an awesome rhyme scheme wow, fabulous muse, loved the mention of Everest, but wonder what eldorado means.
Do you mean muses by orchards in metaphor? Kudos for this great poem.
Wow!! Cool comment ZAY!!.....Um, let's see, I REALLY appreciate you pointing out the rhyme scheme...it's an unusual one and I can't think of its name right now....but you don't see it often because its hard to make it work. The Eldorado mention is a reference to "The Lost City Of Gold" that so many books and films are about......and I'm not exactly clear by what you mean by 'muses by orchards'??.....But I Love this comment Zay ~ shows just how thoroughly you dove into this write!!.....Lots Of Love!!.....talk soon!!.....T xo : )
Hi Tony, this is an amazing reflection of life, the things one passes through, the risk, the opportunities, the wins, the loses, the joy, the pain and especially love, for in the end if not found, in us, around us, in the things we do, there will be more to return to, nothing to hold on to... Great write. Warm regards. Cheers!
