Poem -

My Own

Here we in beds of steel lay
all our dreams have been taken away

Questioning what we will become
after all of our time is done

Our former lives long since destroyed
because resisting oppression we ployed

Now I am the one that the state has branded
walking away from this battle empty handed

The war machine took me in it's embrace
for attrocities committed I might face

The face of the slaughtered for patriotic causes
sin is sin regardless of its clauses

And here I am wondering who I am
the boy murdered by the man
