My shaddow

My shaddow

My old friend firmly at my side
His loyalties I'd cast asideĀ
for someone else, a few times now,
but still he's there, always around.
I guess I've learnt a thing or two....
like what one says, can prove untrueĀ
But he, my shadow, has no words
His actions sing the truest verse.
This realisation came to light
In times of dark, of fear and fright
I saw him standing down below
The gloomy sky began to glow.
I'll never feel the same again
No need to hold, to help wounds mend
No want of touch that feels like home
Now I'm a peace when I'm alone.
