My Special Star

My Special Star

Took aim at the moon one night, gave it my best shot from afar
Missed the moon, but down you came, my wondrous superstar
The god's looked down on me, the night that star was felled
You're that falling star darling, the eighth wonder of the world

Whilst watching the romantic moon, you snuck right up on me
Caught you, a falling star sweetheart, seems you are my destiny
And like all of those stars up there, twinkling in the night sky
My world too has lit up, thanks to you, the twinkle of my eye

At night I look up to the heavens and thank the lord for you
Moon seems to have brightened up and no longer is it blue
As I peer out there into space my love, I really am amazed
How you landed in my arms that night, gentle and unscathed

Whenever I'm feeling down or a little helpless in the dark
I look to you my darling, you've not lost, any of your spark
Nights may look wonderful, from Moon, Venus or even Mars
But space would surely look naked if there wasn't any stars

Night I shot at the moon and missed, was a night of luck
And as much as I love the moon, I'd prefer to be starstruck
Catch a falling star, put in your pocket, save it for a rainy day
Well, I caught a falling star and all the rains have blown away

Lucky my aim is bad, and I'm seriously a shocking shot
Just an old romantic really and a sharpshooter, I am not
There'd be no romance, if the moon didn't shine from up high
I'd not be happy either dear, if you hadn't fallen from the sky

So all you shooters out there, don't worry when you miss
May hit a star instead and finish up, living a life full of bliss
Darling since you appeared I've fallen head over heels for you
Every night I look up and thank God, for my aim not being true

This is really good. I can tell that there's a lot of thought gone in to this piece. The lines

Nights may look wonderful, from Moon, Venus or even Mars
But space would surely look naked if there wasn't any stars

Really stuck out. Awesome write.
