My Strength

There's someone inside me that no one can see
and sometimes I wish she'd take over for me.
she's got it together, or so i am told
she's charming and smart and so very bold

She talks to me daily, she tells me no lies
she doesn't feel ashamed everytime that she cries
she tells me to keep going when I wanna give up
she doesn't see the emptiness that's inside my cup

I wish i was strong enough to live life alone
but she tells me I need her in a serious tone
I know that she helps me to keep standing tall
protecting my heart with a nicely built wall

So listen up closely as i try to explain
this girl lives inside me and handles my pain
she wants you to know she won't let you in    
unless you play by the rules , she won't let you win.
