My Vanishing Act

My Vanishing Act

Was once a shining star
Be it light or be it dark
And all across the land
They'd come to hear his
Tales of fancy
But the devil has claimed
His soul
Snuffed out that last light
...finally...
He may shine no more
You may hear his words
No more
Only silence
No tears
No apologies
But please remember
His name
If he goes
If I go
The curious onlooker
Whose name may remain
A mystery
