Narcissist Protesting

Today’s the day we stand up and March for women’s rights

For something truly terrible has happened overnight

A man was freely elected and what us protestors don’t see

To protest a free election is to protest democracy

The very institution that gives us all a voice

Is what we’re protesting because the winner is not our choice

Democracy is not a spectator sport is rhetoric I’ve heard

but half of us didn’t vote, and that is quite absurd

There is more then enough opinion for the result to be reversed

But we took our rights for granted and now we feel accursed

Voting is a privilege and obligation to all the wise and free

we didn’t use our privilege because we’re arrogant and lazy

Women’s faces scarred by acid in the regressive Middle East

Not once did we protest any of these atrocities

We say we care for women’s rights we are for feminism

But only when it affects us, it’s really narcissism.
