Poem -
Narrow Escape
How did we do it
Manage to emerge
Everything seemed against us .
Things could not have been worse .
Naked fear , Desperation
Hope in short supply .
The enemy had us in headlong flight
And they were not far behind ....
In the end , Sheer gutsĀ
Married with luck .
Somehow , We did survive .
But at awful cost .
- All our heavy equipment , a lot of good men
And any hope of victory , Died .
