nature’s humility

Like 1 Pin it 0A willowy ghost shrouds the sick and old
The sounds of suffering in children smitten
For they see in the ages men so bold
Cynical tones mocking time of what’s hidden
-
O Lord that giveth this body diseased
Like a crumpled letter at the Lord’s step
The ages have brought these tired lungs a wheeze
Into the corners of a black widow’s web
-
For a child that teaches an adult the way
On a path that brings light upon darkened streets
Is a child for whom the Lord brings to pray
Upon an old oak chair marked by nature’s creaks
-
Such that the new replaces antiquity
Be remembered as nature’s humility

Good slant rhyming with "smitten" and "hidden", Jai Masters.
I also enjoyed the occasional use of archaic language in this.
Most excellent...
