Poem -

Necks + WIDE EYES

The children stand
Necks strained
Eyes wide
Searching for glimpses
Of dads
In the sky
Who are...

Riding the world
Riding high
Up so high
While children stand
Awestruck
To see a dad
Fly
As he...

Rides all his worlds
Riding high
Up so high
Occasionally
Throwing down
Sweets
From
His
Sky

I like to think my dad is up there flying about having a fab time of it. I liked the innocence of this piece

Being Me

This could be for all those children who have angel dads. My friend lost her husband, a dear friend, a few years back. Their son was only  3 at the time. He misses his dad terribly 😭  This really is a beautiful poem Marion x

Just goes to show that you and Gwen are true angels Tina ..seeing the beauty and love always before the ugliness. I actually wrote it to convey sometimes Saturday dads who are lost and drugged up having very little left for adoring children. But read through your eyes I see the beauty too...and I truly thank you for that dear friend Xxx

Ahhhh...and now having g read from the drugs point of view it reads as a very different poem. Kudos to you! A reader does truly get what they are thinking about with this poem...for me and Gwen its angels... for others? They will undoubtedly read into it what they will. You have managed a brilliant feat here. Poetry, always subjective and you have proven it right here  xx

I prefer your interpretation Tina...I am too bloody dark these days...I might challenge myself to write one bit of lightness every day lol...write about fairy cakes or something...thanks love...for always taking the time xxx

All in good time! You will write lighter when the time is right, Marion, I know you will. Meanwhile write what your heart tells you unlike our minds our hearts never lie x

I miss my Dad terribly & my Mum too .. but even as an adult (or supposedly) I can relate to the overt message "Necks + WIDE EYES" conveys ..

Oh' and call me cynical if ya dare, but do I sense something deeper and maybe even darker here too .................................  Neville :) x

Someone once said ( Ricky Gervais)...we are all grieving. Of course you do Neville...of course you do. And yes, I don't think i'm capable of lightness these days
thankyou my friend X

That bloke's a genius aint he .....................  and he also loves animals too .. what a guy .........................

lightness is a state of mind .. and I do believe it is only just around a very dark and broad corner .. Your friend, Me :) x
