Neighborhood Pub

Neighborhood Pub

One of the
best things
England
has got
going for them
is the Neighborhood
PUB

The Pub
is a place
you can usually
safely walk
from your Flat

A Place
where you
can unload
after a long
day at work

Never been
to a Pub
where the
locals
were not
friendly
and happy
that you
paid a visit

A place
where
"Bitter Ale"
is served
by the Pint
and the brand
is usually
from the region
you live

We Americans
have never
really been
able
imitate
A British Pub
in the States
Sure we have
places
called a pub
but it is more
like a bar
and
culture
is just
not
the
same.....................

Nigel Cresswell...

Greg I love this but then I really love pubs .
In the late 19th century a very brave Times reporter asked queen Victoria if she feared revolution in England . This was the start of European anarchy and Communism. She said,

Young man,
give my people beer. Good beer and cheap beer.
Give them convivial places to drink beer in.
Then there will never be revolution here.

Well the beer is not that good any more. It is definitely not cheap and the convivial places are being turned into naf yuppie flats faster than you can count.
Come the glorious day.
Cheers mate, I'm going to check the fridge for a beer.
Nigel.
