Never colour me blind
Colour me rouge’ like a rich, red rose
Or perhaps I can be gilted golden as an autumn oak leaf from the wild, wind that blows
Such pretty painted pastels of glorious glows
Amidst emerald greens and turquoise blues, from yon oceanic bestows
A hint of cream to colour my face, blended with blush’ed pinks shall give me grace
Not too much rouge though just a trace, to capture that warmth from the yellow, sizzling sun’s embrace
I love pretty colours, they brighten my soul
Whilst energising my emotions and making me whole
To look like a pure, ripened peach would be my goal
Though the cold, weathers of the harsh winter does take it’s toll
So please use your bristles upon your brush
Shade me with sprinkles like a speckled Thrush
But streak me yellows with a calming shush
And I pray all these happy hues will heal my hush..
I am that deep depths of opaque blue
My veins run on and on and saturate through
A rich, red blood from a heart that is true
Yet never colour me blind or I shall not love you…
