NEVER FORGET ( TWENTY YEARS AGO)

It was twenty years ago today when the news broke
The New York skies turned black with smoke
Lives were lost and cruelly taken away
They had no choice they had no say

Horror the like of which has not been seen before
Bodies scattered like on a battlefield of war
Scars of that fateful day in New York still remain
So much anguish so many tears so much pain

Heroes and heroines firefighters and flight crews
Trying to save lives there was no moment to lose
It was a time of tragedy now a time of reflection
Hoping it's now the end of this terror infection
