NEVER FORGET ( TWENTY YEARS AGO)

It was twenty years ago today when the news broke 
The New York skies turned black with smoke 
Lives were lost and cruelly taken away 
They had no choice they had no say 

Horror the like of which has not been seen before
Bodies scattered like on a battlefield of war 
Scars of that fateful day in New York still remain
So much anguish so many tears so much pain 

Heroes and heroines firefighters and flight crews
Trying to save lives there was no moment to lose
It was a time of tragedy now a time of reflection 
Hoping it's now the end of this terror infection
