Never Know

They say that you can't be sadÂ
When others have it much worse
They ask why we're mad
Yet don't understand that it's a mask for when we're hurt
They tell us that everything will be hardÂ
But when we say we can't deal with it
We're deemed as weak
Or if school is too much for us
We're called lazy
Or when we want to scream but no sound passes our lips
The very thought of speakingÂ
Leaving others deaf, who wouldn't want to hear it
They tell you to get over it
But they never know
Exactly how badly we're trying just to be proud of ourselves again.

School- adulthood, it's all hard and you know Alice, it does get easier.
Sometimes parents/teachers etc don't quitell get it but you dear one, you do.
The best way to heal and calm the anxieties is by writing. Keeping a journal or even finding someone who will actually sit down and listen to what you have to say. You're not alone.Â
Keep up with this great ink. You will begin to see that once you get your thoughts and emotions on paper, you will start feeling better.
Hugs ♡M
BTW I can relate to what you wrote. And sweetie I'm an adult!Â
Great job!
Manon Peel;
Through middle school and high school I suffered from anxiety, depression, anger issues and suicidal thoughts. I went through six counselors and had one come to school every week for a 45 minute session.
I stopped putting an effort in most of my classes and was called lazy. I stopped hanging with friends and was called snobbish, and rude. When my temper rose, I was called violent though I never once raised my hand to a teacher or classmate. When I showed up always in a long sleeve or hoody, I was the social outcast because they already knew about my attempts. When I went to my sessions, whispers ans pointed fingers were all around the class and halls.
As of the past few years, studies have shown that the stress level of kids in high school is the same as patients in a mental institution over 20 years ago.
Some parents don't understand what kids go through now days. They don't see the signs, they don't get that sometimes mental illnesses can both be hereditary and also brought on by the need to push ourselves over the limit.
In college, it got worse for me..The option not to go to class helped. I became a dorm shutin almost and after six months i dropped out.
I pray that things will get better. That adults will be willing to learn and help more, and that those struggling and suffering will learn to reach out.
Hugs!
