Never pull the legs of Daddy-Long-Legs....A Childs Warning

It may seem like fun, it may make u laugh,
And it might even fill you with glee,
To catch this queer creature with long, dangley legs,
And pull them all off..one, two, three!

You may think i'm joking, it can not be true!
But try to beleive all the same,
He may have dive-bombed you, and flew at you'r face,
But he's really not fond of this game!

For what you have there is a Crane Fly,
Or "daddy-long-legs" as he's known,
And he had no real way of avoiding your head...,
Or your hands into which he has flown.

I know all those legs look so tempting,
He surely wont miss one or two??
Well, here is a tale i hope will deter,
Would you like this to happen to YOU?!

Each of gods creatures are made with a plan,
Each has it's own way to survive,
To help it escape, or to help it fight back,
To ensure that they flourish and thrive.

The daddy long legs is no different,
And the fact that your tempted to "pluck",
Means you've fallen right into "phase one" of his trap,
Youve fallen..and now you are stuck.

From here you have just two options,
Set free the poor mite and be nice,
Or give into your urge, and pull off a leg...
Though the latter will come with a price.

While your busy destracted by all of those limbs,
A plan has already been hatched,
You had no idea that his weapon of choice,
Lays where all of its legs are attatched!

Have you heard of the phrase "ticking time bomb?"
Do you know how to blow a grenade?
Well you pulled the first pin, when you pulled that first leg,
Your biggest mistake has been made.

You cant take it back, now this war is declared!,
It's now between you and the bug,
But your not scared or worried ...you're bigger than him!
Your enjoying this..looking quite smug!

Yes, you ARE bigger, WAY bigger in fact,
And because of this difference in stature,
You failed to hear as he warned you to stop,
And his scream as you made your first fracture.

He's ticking away and still you cant hear!
If you could, you would run away fast!
At least after this, this poor creature you hurt,
Will undoubtabley be your last!

There's no time to run now, there's no time to plead,
To cry, to scream or to paddy,
If you take the "long-legs" from "The Daddy-Long-Legs"...
What you got left???.. Well..THE DADDY!!!

"BOOM!!!!" - that was that and all that is left,
Is a pair of shoes splattered with red...
You should have thought twice before pulling the legs,
Off a bug with a BOMB for a head!!!!
