Neverland...learning to say No

I feel a tickle in my throat
A foreign substance I've choked down
Words once chanted now remote
Lay silent in my dormant ground
Beneath the dungeon of my soul
The single word so hard to find
Is the child's whispered plea of No!
Long ago exiled from my mind
It's clawing to the surface and
This time it will not be denied
With lips infused I take my stand
A power word to turn my tide
The taste of No upon my tongue
Breaks forth with full velocity
A warriors scream exhaled from lungs
My voice is now my weaponry
No! Never! No Way! Not gonna happen! No! Never Again!
NoNoNoNoNoNoNoNoNoNoNoNoNoNoNo!

I love this Jenny -a small word with a big...big...meaning yet so hard to say -so claps and praise to the child who does in certain circumstances :) great poem .... Tina x 5 stars for this :)
Tina..Thank you so much for understanding the import(in some circumstances) of the word No. I hope all is well with you and yours!

There's a lot of strength in your poem Jenny, well written
is the art work yours too?
maddison
Thanks Maddison, for recognizing the strength :-), and yep, I did a sloppy job on the art, but I didn't have any clip art that matched the theme, so I sketched out something.
Jenny Good,
Excellent verse, I like the end stanza, My applause
The taste of No upon my tongue
Breaks forth with full velocity
A warriors scream exhaled from lungs
My voice is now my weaponry
