A New Reality

You knocked on my heart,

So I let you in,

You decided to take a part,

And you took me for a spin,

You knocked on the door,

And my walls came down,

You had me begging for more,

Until you crushed me in the ground,

I would have followed you,

Wherever you would go,

I thought you loved me too,

But I guess I'll never know,

I carried the broken pieces,

While trying to live again,

Tried to smooth the rough edge creases,

And I asked myself when,

When would I forget to fear?

When would my pain start to abet?

And the wind whistled in my ear,

"When you decide to pay your debts."

A smile then takes over me,

Past my belief and beyond my pain,

Into my new found glee,

Out of the caverns that are my brain,

I stepped out of this life,

I know I'm finally free,

I abandoned all my strife,

And stepped into a new reality...
