New Spring Sonnet

New Spring Sonnet

Winter slowly leaves and turns into spring
The world is no longer grey and frigid
Not a trace of biting wind is ling'ring
Colors return and are again vivid
Life starts to flourish and birds chirp their song
The bees buzz as they dart from here to there
The sun is brighter and warmer and strong
As it shines through the sweet-smelling air
The change is much like a morning's sunrise
It turns away from the cold quiet dark
Towards the light that warms the changing skies
And you can hear the hymns sung by the lark

They sing of new life and a renewed world
And that of a new hope being unfurled
