Next Book

Between paperbacks tells a tale of a dark past.Ā
With each new page, came more terror and rage.
Longing for laughter with each new chapter, it never came.
This is my life story, who is the decided Author?
I desire a new name, I pray for a plot change.Ā
Still Iām left with more pain as I read the words on the next page.Ā
Between paperbacks I cannot continue to remain.
Iām drowning in my own blood, sweat and tears.
Stained pages painted with mental damage bound by years.Ā
I cannot change my life on the next page, nor chapter.Ā
Next BookĀ
Iāll hand pick every word, Iāll write with confidence and courage.
Iāll only introduce characters that have morals and values.Ā
Iāll illustrate a future that will nurture the man I am.Ā
Yes, a New Book! Bound with good change, a telling tale of new love.Ā
A loving father, a cared for son and a deserving mother.Ā
A happy home!
I refuse to let their hands reach his, I refuse their flaws to be handed down, I will overcome.Ā
For him, for her, for us, the Next Book arrived with his birth.Ā
He will love to read his story, about a child that never hid.
A child loved and nurtured because he was planned.Ā
He will never know nor relate to the hurt and pain that will always remain between those paperbacks.Ā

This is a really good write, SkyCloud. Itās sad, raw, yet positive and healing.
You can see a light amidst the darkness.
But your last poems are filled with anguish & pain.Ā
I write to cope with the seasons, they forever change and sometimes without warningā¦
Before poetry I never got any of it out, I was bottled up anger, poetry has allowed me to learn to like myself and grow from the pain.Ā
Ā
Yes, SkyCloud, you grow from the pain. But the spirit also craves light. One must, every now & then, bathe it with light, otherwise it forgets how to thrive. Take care.Ā
